What if all creation was God’s love letter to humanity—a story of parental love, beauty, and hope?

God’s Love Letter: Creation is a personal letter from God to the reader, expressing His love for us through all His creation. It is a lyrical picture book for ages 4 – 99+ with its delicately crafted words and illustrations. It is a work of love that can be shared across faiths.

“A WARM HUG IN THE FORM OF A BOOK”

_______________________________

“God’s Love Letter is a warm hug in the form of a book.

While the words are simple enough to read, the meaning and substance are a deep reminder that we cannot take our existence for granted and that we are a part of something greater than ourselves. The images are storytellers in themselves, beautifully accompanying the poetry.

Highly recommend this for adults and children, religious or not.

Behind the scenes

I ran a (successful) kickstarter campaign on 06 June 2022 (Whit Monday) for 40 days to help fund the production of my picture book: God’s Love letter: Creation.

Watch my Kickstarter video above to learn how the book came about, who it’s for, and why I wrote it.

You can also check-out my interview on the Society for Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) blog.

Sample text & illustrations

I wrote you the heavens and the angels,
sound and time,
the universe—with its infinite
galaxies, planets, and stars.

Just for you.
Out of Love.

I painted you the earth, sun, and moon,
night and day.
Charted light from darkness, land from water,
ground from sky.

Just for you.
Out of Love.

I shaped the flowers and the trees,
fruits and seeds.
Sketched some of the tiniest creatures
your eyes would ever see.

Just for you.
Out of Love.

I composed the great creatures
of the lands, skies,
and the seven seas.
The meek and the fierce.

Just for you.
Out of Love.

Then I made you… in my image,
with a brilliant mind to dream,
a delicate spirit to love,
a free will to choose your way.

Transitions are the chrysalis from which new life can form… & you don’t need to go through them on your own

Coaching people in transition or in search of meaning is a true passion of mine, because I know that, when we choose to go through that uncomfortable, at times painful, space—that’s when we make the most meaningful shifts in our lives. And it’s a journey we are not meant to take alone. Dina

Wander through the windmills of my mind

From reflections on the dark nights of my soul to the whirlings of my many interests, my blog is the place where I share with you my thoughts, passions, worries, questions, hopes, and dreams.

Black and white picture. Man, sad, sitting in front of window, with shutters down, small rays of light shining on him.

“You will never make it without anti-depressants” she said. (part I)

“You will never make it without antidepressants.”

These were my psychiatrist’s “words of encouragement” during our first session, when I uttered, between my tears, that I wanted to try to get through this without medication.

The five years prior to this meeting had been anything but a walk in the park.

Where do I belong: Ode to a chaotic world

I wrote this poem in a moment of deep sadness, feeling a sense of loss – lost in the world we live in, the values it espouses, the fears it harbors – loss of where to fit in. And so I dedicate this poem to all those who, like me, feel lost in today’s world.

Wet Green Grass during Daytime Close Up Shot Photography

“The grass isn’t greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it”

Two things prompted this post: My friend’s, Jennifer, blogpost on Gratitude, and a quote I read yesterday – “The grass isn’t greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it”. This post is an ode of gratitude to the many Blessings in my COVID-impregnated life.

My poem selection

I discovered my love for poetry when I was eight, and that flame has been burning ever since.
Below you find a selection of some of my poems, which you can also discover on my blog.

Woman Wearing Black Head Scarf in Grief Eyes closed as if in prayer

The gifts of grief

Many people don’t like me.
Don’t appreciate me.
They cast me aside,
Rejected.
Neglected.
Despised.

Where do I belong: Ode to a chaotic world

Where do I belong
if not with Thee.
In a world of tumultuous
noise,
persistent flow of
information that carries
no knowledge,
no substance,
no creed.

Martin Luther King Jr holding his hand up, black and white picture

What if Martin Luther King had yet another dream?

This is more of a lyrical text, rather than a poem. MLK’s speech “I Have a Dream” was one I wished I had written. Full of heart. Full of power. Full of passion. Full of naked truths. And so I wondered, what would MLK say about today’s state of affairs? And what about the internet?
