Gestalt Coaching Training
Open up a whole new world of possibilities for your coachees by going beyond traditional coaching.
Join me on this experiential journey!
Train with me
I offer comprehensive, practical programmes that will deepen and expand your coaching skills, with tangible impact on your coachees and your own personal development.
I’ve got a Certificate in Coaching from the University of Cambridge, have an Advanced Practitioner Diploma in Gestalt Coaching taught by Gestalt leading expert John Leary-Joyce (and support him on his excellent Foundational Gestalt course run through the AoEC), and have a 24-year career exploring every corner of Human Resources—
But what really matters is what I’ve learned along the way: how to powerfully show up for my coachees, hold space for real transformation, and help others do the same.
For Coaches
About Gestalt Coaching Practice Labs for Coaches
Coaching beyond tools: Take your coaching practice to the next level!
To learn a transformative approach that integrates your intuition, creativity, and presence into the coaching process.
Trained coaches of all levels of experience are welcome!
This is your chance to go beyond traditional coaching, and witness the impact you can have on your coachees and your own personal development as a coach by exploring and practicing Gestalt coaching skills, incl. “use of self”. Whether you are new to Gestalt or looking for a refresher, these practice labs are for you!
♥ Learn how to get very deep quickly with your coachee.
♥ Find ways to get unstuck when you (or your coachee) are feeling stuck.
♥ Learn how to use your thoughts, feelings, and sensations to deepen the coach-client relationship in a short period of time.
♥ Reconcile personal expression and professional boundaries to create meaningful impact and lasting change.
♥ Unlock new insights, deeper awareness, and achieve impactful results for your clients.
This experiential & non-traditional style of coaching, also known as “relational coaching”, gives you the skills to boldly—and safely—show up as your true self for your coachees.
NB: This is NOT a Gestalt training course per se, but an opportunity to explore and practice Gestalt coaching principles and way of being. If you are looking for a training course, I highly recommend John Leary-Joyce’s trainings. And if in doubt, reach out!

Schedule a call or send me an email, and we can explore whether this programme is the right fit for your goals.
4 Learning blocks, incl.
10 Practice Lab sessions—20 hours of practice.
6 Relational Coaching Community sessions.
Up to 33 hours of learning in total.
You may book each learning block individually or register for all four blocks as a complete programme.
BLOCK 1: FOUNDATIONAL VIDEO (pre-requisite)
This is a pre-requisite to joining the practice labs. The video offers you a basic overview of what Gestalt means and introduces some of its core underlying principles. This then provides the shared foundation for our practical work together in the practice labs.
BLOCKS 2 & 3: PRACTICE LABS
The practice labs are divided into two blocks of 5 labs each.
Each 2-hour Lab session focuses on a different aspect of Gestalt and use of self.
Each Lab dives into a specific Gestalt theme, which will act as the spring board for exploration, experimentation, and practice.
In each lab, you’ll be immersed in Gestalt Coaching principles through demos, personal experimentation, small-group practice (with feedback), and facilitated discussions. We also work with real-time topics, questions, or “Gestalt” that arise in the room.
In-between the labs, you are encouraged to join a learning group so you may continue your learning and practice between sessions.
Overall learning outcomes:
- A deeper understanding of what it means to be a coach (beyond just doing coaching), through practice and exploration of “use of self” with a Gestalt coaching lens.
- Hands-on experience with each Gestalt skill and way of being across each of the 10 lab sessions, helping you apply what you learn and real coaching contexts.
- A sense of community through shared learning and exchange with fellow participants—in the sessions as well as in-between.
My goal is to make each lab session as experiential as possible, so that you may, if you wish, apply those skills with your own clients, and witness the difference it makes for them and your own personal development as a coach.
A certificate of attendance will be provided after each lab session, which you can submit for AC Continuous Professional Development (CPD) or ICF Resource Development CCE purposes.
–> Current practice labs sessions are listed here.
BLOCK 4: RELATIONAL COACHING COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE
Throughout the year, you are invited to join up to 6 Relational Coaching Community of Practice sessions of 90 minutes each.
These sessions provide you the space to bring client cases, explore questions from your ongoing learning and practice, or reflect on topics that support your growth as a relational coach. By group agreement, sessions may also include Gestalt-informed and relational peer coaching.
Who this community is for
This community is open to coaches who value a relational approach and are looking for an ongoing space for shared reflection and learning, including:
- Participants of the Gestalt Coaching Practice Labs
- Alumni of John Leary-Joyce’s Gestalt Foundation and Diploma Programmes
- Coaches trained in relational approaches who are seeking a peer-based community of practice
Please note: this group is not a formal or accredited supervision space and does not replace supervision required by professional bodies or training programmes. Participants remain fully responsible for their own professional practice and client work.
The purpose of the group is to foster mutual learning, reflective practice, and professional meaningful dialogue among relational coaching practitioners.
I am a proud member of the Association for Coaching (AC) CPD Scheme.
As such, you will receive a certificate confirming your participation in the practice labs (blocks 2 & 3) and the number of hours completed, which you can submit to the AC as proof for Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
You may also submit your hours as proof for Resource Development Continuing Coach Education (CCE) units (for e.g. ICF).

Can’t afford my rates?
My intention is to make coaching accessible to anyone who needs it, regardless of financial situation, while keeping it sustainable for me. As such, if you are in financial difficulty or earn a modest income, please email me to explore alternatives.
Upon mutual agreement, and subject to my own availability, these alternatives may include:

Sliding scale pricing for those with modest incomes, so we find something that feels fair and keeps both our hearts open.
- An individualised payment plan.
- A creative exchange or “barter” arrangement, if appropriate.
Money shouldn’t be a barrier for someone to receive quality coaching. So, if my rates feel out of reach, but you would like to work with me, reach out!
I want you to get real value from your Gestalt coaching experience.

What to expect from every lab
♥ A short input video introducing the lab’s key theme, to be viewed as preparation prior to the live online lab session.
♥ In the lab, you will experience, experiment, practice, and exchange around a different Gestalt Coaching principle and ways of being as a coach.
♥ Lab sessions would typically include a demonstration, personal experimentation, practice rounds in pairs or triads incl. feedback, and facilitated discussions.
♥ We meet for 2 hours each time, working with those topics, questions, or “Gestalt” that are present in the room.
♥ In-between labs, you are encouraged to join a learning group to continue your learning and practice between sessions.
Lab 1 – Awareness
In this lab,
- we explore why awareness is so central to Gestalt, and the different dimensions of awareness;
- you experience awareness through a couple of exercises.
Each subsequent lab (2-9) will then explore a different dimension of awareness through the practice of a specific Gestalt skill.
Lab 2 – Exaggeration & Repetition
In this lab, you will experiment with and practice the use of exaggeration (of gestures, posture, etc.) and repetition (of words, sounds, sentences, gestures, etc.) to expand the client’s awareness.
Lab 3 – Perceptual resonance
In this lab, you will experiment with and practice perceptual resonance (i.e. sharing what you notice through your 5 senses), and how you can use it impactfully as a coach to enhance the client’s awareness.
Lab 4 – Cognitive resonance
In this lab, you will experiment with and practice cognitive resonance (i.e. sharing what you think), and how you can use it impactfully as a coach to enhance the client’s awareness.
Lab 5 – Somatic resonance
In this lab, you will experiment with and practice somatic resonance (i.e. sharing what you feel emotionally or physically), and how you can use it impactfully as a coach to enhance the client’s awareness.
Lab 6 – Levels of intensity
In this lab, you will experiment with and practice the 4 levels of intensity when exploring the client’s story, and how you can use it impactfully as a coach to enhance the client’s awareness.
Lab 7 – Projections & Creative experimentation
In this lab, we introduce the concept of projections and creative experimentation, and you experiment with and practice it with the help of objects and/or images, and how you can use it impactfully as a coach to enhance the client’s awareness.
Lab 8 – Polarities
In this lab, you will experiment with and practice how you can use projections and experimentation to explore polarities and the range within a client’s dilemna. Purpose, as always, is to impactfully enhance the client’s awareness.
Lab 9 – Empty chair
In this lab, we introduce the concept of the empty chair, and you experiment with and practice how you can use it impactfully as a coach to enhance the client’s awareness, especially in situations of interpersonal conflict.
Lab 10 – Bringing it all together
This session acts as a way to consolidate your learning across all 9 labs, including a final practice.
NB: These Labs are NOT a Gestalt training course per se, but an opportunity to explore and practice Gestalt coaching principles and way of being. If you are looking for a training course, I highly recommend John Leary-Joyce’s trainings. And if in doubt, reach out!

What makes this training different?
Many organisations ask their leaders to “be a coach,” but few programmes address the real tensions this creates.
I don’t believe managers can be true coaches—but those who master coaching skills become far more effective, trusted leaders with deeper team relationships.
The Gestalt approach focuses on the real power dynamics at play between managers and employees, while also building genuine, two-way relationships.
How is the training set up?
The sessions are hands-on to give you space to practice and master Gestalt coaching skills, with practical tools and reflection, no matter your experience level.
The training is offered in three modules:
- Coaching skill essentials: For those new to coaching to learn core coaching skills in a safe, supportive space.
- The power of “use of self” in coaching: For those with coaching experience to discover powerful ways to relate to their coachees and strengthen their impact through use of self.
- Navigating tensions in the manager–coach dual role: For participants to explore manager/subordinate power dynamics and how to find their own personal path forward.
Ready to take your leadership to the next level?
I bring over 24 years of experience in HR, coaching, and mentoring, including 7 years dedicated specifically to coaching, a Certificate in Coaching from the University of Cambridge, have an Advanced Practitioner Diploma in Gestalt Coaching taught by Gestalt leading expert John Leary-Joyce.
This training will give you the practical skills, confidence, and support to make a real difference in your organisation.
Please check below for a detailed description of upcoming training events and pricing.

To explore manager/subordinate power dynamics and how to find your own personal path forward.
Many organisations are encouraging their leaders and people managers to act as coaches for their team members, and to attend coaching training programmes. However, few of these programmes tackle the inherent tensions and polarities that arise for leaders who try to “be a coach”.
This experiential workshop will give you the opportunity to reflect on the power dynamic inherent to most manager/subordinate relationships, and how to find your own personal path to managing the ensuing tensions.
